The Estuary forum meet

Wed Dec 15, 2004 11:07 am

Carrigaholt beach ( road actually) and cappa pier. high tide before 6pm. Only fish baits used.

Date: 12th DEC 2004

For the Shannon Forum meet there was only Neilus, Sean365 and myself as everyone else had to work. Neilus and myself came along around 4pm but Sean had been fishing before hand. The strong southerlies had mixed up the water but the fishing wasn't hectic. The 2 lads got a few bites and I managed a 7 to 8lb thornback on 1/2 lask of mackerel on a pulley close in. After that all was quite with the exception of a 6oz whiting wrapping its gob around my 3/0 pulley. We were suprised there were no doggies after dark but it might have been worth having lug or razor to look for flatties or bass after the blow. Around 7pm we headed off to cappa pier and neilus caught a huss and sean a doggy and there was few whiting as well so no one blanked but once the ebb tide ripped the fishing was difficult with weed in the water from the blow during the week and the bites dried up and we left after 9:30pm.
