Results: 1 small White trout 7 mackeral

Report:

never caught white trout in the sea before although it was only 6 inches long (at most!) so I'm feeling pretty good. It had about 10 sea lice covering its head which I tryed to remove before putting it back.

A new species for me in fenit!!

seemed to be plenty mackeral around just under the pier

Well done bob. I wonder if sea trout are on the rise again? There seems to be lots around this area at the moment. :D

good man for returning it, say it had only run down from the river a month earlier perhaps. wonder how it got so much sea lice so fast, perhaps there are fish farms nearby where it had been swimming.

anyone got any opinions ?

could have come over from the river in brandon that was always a good white trout river. there used to be salmon/ white trout in the lee so it is possible that one or 2 make it back every year !!! its not like anybody is netting it now.

cashen and others most likely i suppose

there were a good few lice onn it a mate of mine caught a rockling with lice on it the last week so they must just be around

there are no fish farms in tralee bay that i know of

hey Rodger hows it goin? :D yeah been out of the fishing loop for nearly 6 months now doing a course Final year so back to it now.
