had an early start on sat morning and headed out to Dunmore flat rocks. High tide was forecast for 10.00am. Fished from 08.00- 12.00 noon. conditions were almost flat calm and had the whole mark to myself. bait was frozen peeler and mackeral fished on a 4/0 hook and pulley rig. Pulled in 3 pollock around the 3/4 - 1lb mark. all returned. Loads of bites from what were probably smaller pollock but did not bother to reduce the hook size in the hope of something bigger - it didn't happen.

Fished between Portally cove and Rathmoylan Cove on Sunday, only got there half an hour before high tide, got a 2lbs pollack straight away, then not a single bite after high tide

Hi Mick

Do you fish Portally Cove much - I was told by a lad from the RNLI who lives close by that it is quite foul to one end but very good for pollack even in winter and that it can fish exceptionally well on the flood in darkness?

Thanks

Kieran
