hi
when you say bridges of ross are you talking about casting from the points on either side of the bowl into deeper water - or are you talking about going down in the centre of the bowl and trying off the ledges there
maybe your in a different part altogether - either way it looks hairy to me!

see im not too sure of the place the first time there....came around by the collapsed cave along to the point for a look and then fished into a gully on the left as there was no wave coming in here....it was pretty hairy there was a decent swell running....i could point it out on google map but not sure how to get it on here......

There are a lot of good gullies and areas all along that stretch, its just having the right weather to get on them and be safe. Any hint of a swell and it is not safe on that side of the coastline, the times i have seen people on some of the ledges is not good. also perched high up on the clifss further up the coast, would make for interesting unhooking, whilst hanging onto your fishing position!!

ya i only fished where i was because the rocky outcrop in front stopped any wave hitting the ledge i was on....familiarity is needed here big style....i fancied a gully in front of the car park but there was a net put out there...

You can see Ross BAy from my folks house. The gully in front of the carpark is handy cause its so flat and sheltered. Thats not the first time that someone has said there has been a net in place down there. last time it was across the wide part of the "carpark" bay.
Just need to get myself out there to join in the fun of winkling a few out now....

the gully there looked good as well.....the next time...will definately be back in calmer weather to explore it again...might see you down there at some stage of the summer....

Dad has fished there the most, he has had some conger, wrasse pollock, rockling etc from that carpark gulley. As i said its handy just for an hour or so.
Good luck will read any reports with interest.
