West Cork beaches

We (myself and 2 mates) have been enjoying some good fishing recently around the Barlet Cove area. Whereas Barley Cove itself fishes very slow and can be a bit hit and miss, there is some good fishing to be had around Chimney Cove and the beach opposite the campsite which I know as Boulder Beach.
During November we have caught Flounder, Gilthead Bream, Bass, Turbot, Whiting, Sea Trout and Mullet. Chimnet Cove usually fishes best going into dark and I have caught Coalies from this beach too.
The Giltheads seem to appear around sunset time at about half-tide and most of the Turbot are being taken during daylight sessions.
Fresh Lug is a must for most species, particularly if it's tipped with Squid. The best place on Boulder Beach seems to be in the middle, but be careful as the tide comes in pretty quick! When you fish here it can sometimes seem very flat then all of a sudden a set of vicious rollers can appear, it's a good idea to wear chesties.
The Bass have been of average size 2-3lb, nothing spectacular as yet but it does turn up Flounder around 1 1/2 to 2lb's.
Don't worry Kieran, the Bream photo's are coming, I'm just waiting for my mate to finish the film! With a bit of luck I'll get one on the digital before hand!

Barley Cove is right down on the end of the Mizen Peninsular. It's the last sandy beach before the Carribbean! It's a good idea to enjoy the fishing there at this time of year as in the summer months it's a bit of a mecca for sunseekers and sand castles (that's barley Cove, NOT the Carribbean).
Check out the three beaches I mentioned on a map of the area.
