Weather:cold NW breeze
Bait:mack squid, ragworm
Rigs:2 hook flapper
Results:1 plaice. 1 rockling
Report:Nice calm conditions at first, wind strengthening later. I arrived first and set up . When Neil arrived, I hadnt even got a bite and it wasnt looking good  . We tried all sorts of rigs and distances ( Well Neil tried fishing at distance, I found out that my distance cast is what he calls in close  ). Nothing but crabs and still no bites!!. It was time for one of Neils stories . You see, strange things happen when Neil tells one of his stories. Like the time he told me about the octopus he caught 19 years ago,,,, no sooner was the story finished when he caught ,,,,,yes you guessed it,,,, an octopus  . Well he told me that he hadnt fished Bray Harbour in years, but that the last time he was here he caught a nice plaice. "I'd love to catch one" said I and no sooner were the words out of my mouth when the rod tip rattled and I reeled in a nice plaice, first one ever  . i was (am) thrilled. It was spooky the way it happened. What next I wondered as Neil told me of a tope his friend caught but couldnt lift up the Harbour wall,,,,, but it was not to be  ,,, nothing else followed except for a small rockling. First time out in March (11th trip this year so far  ) and still no blanks (sorry Neil    ). Pity I dont have the same luck with the Lotto  .
