People: me and the family
Duration: 20:00 - 22:30
Tide: HW 22:30ish
Weather: Breezy, odd spot of drizzle, I didn't think it was cold, but the rest did
Bait: frozen black lug and razor
Rigs: 2/0 pulley, 2 hook size 2 flapper
Results: 1 five bearded rockling, 1 bass, 1 coalie
Report: Thought might have a chance of a bass at the old favourite mark after everything had been stirred up with the wind earlier in the week. Kids wanted to come and see the fox, so brought the beach buddy to keep them and my wife warm and dry. They were very good in fairness, but no sign of the bait bandit unfortunately - maybe he only likes Pete or low water?
Lot of weed around and a decent surf, lost the pulley rig second cast to a monster bit of weed, so decided to fish just the one rod with the flapper (no knife or scissors to trim my leader  ) and see how it went. Got the rockling third cast to lug in amongst some weed. Bass a couple of casts later, which increased my interest somewhat - much to the dismay of the rest. Only a smallie, but a bass none the less - and four months ahead of my first one last year!
Got a coalie towards 10.30 and as I'd already pushed my luck, we headed home.
Hard going through the weed, didn't see any bites, but perseverance paid off - nothing on the razor, everything to the lug.
