People: me and two fellow scots
Duration: 10.15 - 11.45
Tide: dropping
Weather: Calm, hint of sunshine
Bait: sandeel
Rigs: three hook flappers (size 4)
Results: 3 whiting
Report: Had a couple of friends visiting me, had promised to take them out. Dying from a cold at the moment, but as it was nice enough Sunday morning we had a quick go before they flew home.
Wanted to make sure they got a fish, so figured off the pier would be a good bet for some whiting. Quiet enough, lot of crab activity, but they managed some fish each on the last few casts. Not bad for beginners anyway, got the casting down to a fine art quickly enough. Couple of converts to the angling cause anyway.
The fish suprised me, two were deep hooked, got them free eventually, but they floated around for about 20 minutes when they were returned. When suddenly within the space of about 30 seconds they both decided to revive and swim off, no sign of either of them after that, so hopefully they made it.
