BRAY 23rd FEB

Sun Feb 24, 2008 2:02 pm

People:me

Duration:5-30pm-9pm

Tide:low 6.40pm approx

Weather:mild, very breezy

Bait:lug, mack, squid.

Rigs:3 hook flappers (properly tied, thanks neil  )

Results:7 shore rockling, 2 whiting, too many crabs.

Report:Not much to report. Brought the wife out for a spin (ended up in Bray Harbour  ). She was happy to go for a walk, read magazines etc, and left me to fish away. Other anglers were catching rockling also. Very hard to detect bites in the wind and besides fish were all very small. A couple of times i thought i was into something bigger as i could feel movement as i reeled in ,but it turned out to be a small rockling and 2 crabs  . Anyways I got my fishing fix for the weekend  . I left when a van pulled up ,guys started fishing and blasting trad and ballads. I like Christy Moore too, but not over 80 decibels please  . Why do people insist on fishing right next to you when theres loads of room for everyone :? . Give me the early morning walkers anyday  .

Might try the beach sometime Roger, was going to try Greystones but after seeing the pics posted on this site it looks like a building site down there at the moment  . To be fair, those lads were friendly enough, and moved for me no problem, but the only backing track I want to listen to when i'm fishing is the sound of the ocean etc. Wife calls me Victor (Meldrew  ).

If you want a bit of peace, go to the smaller pier, the one without the big red and white lighthouse

I prefer there for that reason alone.
