A group of us fished Five Mile Saturday night from 1930-0030hrs, to the right and in front of the house. We had plenty of bait which included Peeler Crab, Black/Red Lugworm, Sandeel, Mackeral and Squid. Fished over an incoming tide, with hardly no wind. Fishing was slow to start, with plenty of floating weed (still around after the storms of a few weeks ago). Picked up after a while with some nice Codling, Flounder, Doggies, Rockling and Whiting taking the baits. By far the best bait on the night was the fresh Peeler Crab with the flats falling to the Lugworm, the Mackeral, Sandeel and Squid did'nt work too good. Most if not all the fish were caught close in with distant casting overshooting the fish. Overall it was a slow night but the nice Codling made up for this.
