This is long after the fact but will summarise the time I spent in Waterford working. I brought my rods and managed to get out every night for at least an hour. I had done a bit of bass fishing in kerry and cork but was/am a novice at winter fishing. having put up a post here barrymurphy got in touch with me and between him and coaster they brought me fishing most nights or pointed me in the direction of places if they werent out. Thanks a million lads after ye being so good to me I hope ye win the hurling this year and Ill try to get Cork out of the picture to let ye have a run at it.
bait for the trip was lug mostly with mackerel razor crab used also

I rang barry and with coming tide all that week he suggested a spot on tramore beach. The conditions were cat gales and then weed barry came down to say hello I left shortly afterwards blank

The reenashark? fishing club were having a competition in woodstown and barry said hed bring me out and i could fish the side of it (it was part of a league) I had never been at a competition before and it was amazing to me to see the line of rod tip lights extending up the beach. I caught 8/10 whiting and really enjoyed the night. I met coaster there that night

I went to the ladies slip in tramore and to be honest found it a bit cramped lot of fellas fishing there a few coalfish were caught. I got one again very stormy which it was for the whole time there really.

With more bad weather i rang barry who suggested trying dunmore and gave me directions. I caught every cast coalfish up to 2lbs great sport and after 1 1/2 hours I went to woodstown wher I caught whiting and flounder every cast great fun!
I went back to Cork and returned

Went to passage on dropping water with barry again a knock a cast caught flounder and two fish I had never caught before dab and 5 bearded rockling had a coalfish and whiting too. Coaster came down to us too without rods

though tides werent great went out to saleens and the beach away to the front of it was wild there couldnt grip the bottom went away.

tried the "white pole" on tramore beach again wild got one coalie and packed in after an hour.
thurs24th
Met up with barry and coaster and went to crooke where caught coalies flats and whiting. as water was dropping we went to dunmore nothing doing there only samall whiting.
mon 28th
Last night was in the saleens with coaster where coalfish were caught.
Sorry not specific about tides etc cant remember! I have to say having made contact on this site with the lads it made for a brilliant time in waterford for me I saw loads which i would never have found myself and learnt from the lads who are obviously good anglers thanks lads for being so generous with your time an information. And well done to all on this site that allows this to happen
