Report:
Decided on heading into deise country as the weather was turning bad again for a change. The venue was a spot my dad had fished loads of times as a kid been from the area.Classic surf conditions but would we pick up fish the answer was yes.Nothing until darkness but then it was bite a cast. The flats had a preferance for the black lug along with the coalies. No real big flats but coalies to 2lb which put up adecent fight on our lighter set ups.
The bass were at range on steamlined razor baits and both were big slackliners which we thought were codling so imagine our suprise when first i had a fish of about 5lb and gunther had one a little later of about 4.5lb,which incidently had practically beached itself before gunther felt any resistance. My fish was very short and stocky good condition, gunthers long and lean like himself. Both fish were realised to fight another like all the bass we ever catch along with the other fish caught on the day.
All in all a good day, gunther christened his new greys pz match, learned the basics with the mutiplier and i got out fishing for the first time in nearly a month.Roll on the settled fine weather of our spring and summer    .Incidently no wonder the lack of cod this year if the bass of a good size are still hanging around ,just a sign of the times i guess.Till the next time.
Tight lines.
