Results:4 whiting

Report: Nothing for the first hour or two, then moved around the pier and seemed to locate the fish. Every cast produced a bite from here on but only landed 4, each one a decent size.
All bites came to the lower snood, bait on the top snood was untouched every cast.
t'was my first time fishing since August/September :shock: so nice get back out.

had some nice whiting on the harbour last tuesday night lug tiped with squid was working well ,boycie managed a lobster while trying to hook a monster conger 8) no codling about keep at it col they will arrive sooner or later :D

nice fishing i had a lobster on dat pier last year. cod are very slow 2 show around wicklow hope they show soon :) :) :) any 1 fishig the beac in wicklow lately

BTW I'd planned to pop into rods dogs and guns to pick up some bait and also elastic as I'd forgoten to bring any :roll: . However the place was closed. It was only on my way home that I noticed they have moved location (annoyingly I'd walked right past it on my way without noticing it! :x )

thinking bout fishing the harbour dis wkend, wondering if 2 fish into harbour or sea??? fished sea side of pier few times and only dogs on sandeels and mac, fished into harbour no joy, any tips!! baits rigs which side etc... beginner pls help :( :(

did ya keep the lobster.had two lobsters two summers ago but got the first one up to the edge and it broke the hook in half and fell back in.nd the second clipped the snood in the same place and fell back in.

hi wayne all the whiting i got where about 50 yards out fishing eastwards of the first 15 feet of the end of the harbour got one in closer but doubles and trebles out futher plus one small codling :?

my favourite spot on that pier is the very top right hand corner. basically the first peg as you go around the wall. cast about 80 yards north east (45 degrees to the pier) and allow the current to wash your gear back in front of you.

also find that often the decent coalies ( 35-40cm) are located only 15 foot out in front of you near high water.
