25.4mm Beach East Cork Tues 18th.

Thu Dec 20, 2007 1:30 am

People: 5 starting off but ended up with 8

Duration: The 5 from 7.00 - 10.30

Tide: On the flood

Weather: North easterley

Bait: About everything

Rigs: About everything

Results: (The 5) 34 coalies and 2 bass

Report: Having fished Ballycrennane the night before in sh##e conditions this was an enjoyable night out. From the off the coalies were happy to join in the festive mood. With Steve, the winner with 12 coalies, having 7 fish in his first 3 casts. Most of the fish were caught on lug at about 60-80 mts.
Pete, the one with hair, and Gavin turned up halfway through the session and ended up tooooooooooo   the far left of the beach. First time I've ever seen any body fish there before  :? Nice session good to get back in to fish again.

Added foot note: fish sizes were Cork sizes round fish 30cm.

hi donal, good fishin, were the bass any size?

Thu Dec 20, 2007 1:47 pm

MC, to clarify, it would have been 4 in a row   3 coalies, a large shore rockling of about 33cms that had stitched itself onto a 4/0 Pennell rig and a small flounder about 25cm for me. Gav had a couple of coalies too. Nice evening to be out and apart from the Guileen lads hogging the best bit of the beach :D , at least it made for a bit of banter.

Gav had the dubious honour of a double shot of coalies, 1 of which was attached to his rig which was then attached to about 60 metres of line. After much hauling, we retrieved another rig lost by Joe with another coalie attached..... With Joe being scottish and all, we deemed it only right to waive the finders keepers rule and gave him his rig back...

Couldn't have been in a worse place on the beach  rocks and a bloody stream right next to me....still,i was just happy to be on the beach doing my bit to end Pete's run of blanks (he needed that bit of competion  nice rockling to by the way)
Still i didn't blank (which is a good thing in such company and where we were located :) ),Pete added nice rockling to his list of fish for the year,Donal had a good laugh at where we were fishing and Joe got his rig back,i'd say not a bad evenings fishing.
