Forget it not worth the trip.
With nothing to do Sunday morning I headed down that way. First check was the weir a Wellington bridge. With no fresh water coming down the river maybe! there was a chance of of some fish on the dropping tide. Spent an hour and a half with the best of crab not a pick.

One simple rule, if I'm not catching cod off de wall there's not cod there to be caught 8) 8)

The Harp bar were fishing a comp there. While I was fishing there was 6 cheers roared out 4 of them were for weed and the other 2 were for 2 small whiting

Went last week twice to the wall. Evenings only. All kind of fresh bait, except frozen squid. Tried different manners for the cod, different hooks, weights, bait,.....Twice blank! except at the end 1 small ling, 15 cm long. Two latvian men were sitting on the pier in Monkstown, in front of the two pubs, nice rods, different fresh baits,etc.... no snap!! i don't know what's going on, but this is probably the worst year in the 32 years I'm fishing!!

Was in Ostend, Belgium, last sat and sunday, nice pier over there. Was fishing with 2 rods and fresh mackerel, lots of whiting, some big ones.

friday I'm off. HT at 2.50 pm and I'd like to go to Monkstown for flounder. Any tips or reports? Where is the best spot over there.
And if i see no snap again this friday... then I give it up, I don't go anymore this year! And i go for the pike and bream in inniscara lake....

Drove past the wall last Sunday, saw an angler on the green patch weighing a fish, looked like a bass of about 4lbs. Was in a local tackle shop on Monday and a fella came in buying crab to fish the wall and said he had a codling there the day before...

There was a group of anglers fishing into the channel from the road before the boat yard around Rafeen creek...never saw anyone fish this spot before, I assume they were after flounder so that might be worth a shot xavier.

Water too clear

Hi and Merry Christmas, I have not been down to da wall this year yet, but my spy tells me that the water is very clean there now. He says that it has something to do with a water treatment plant and he reckons that the water is now too clean.

Just thought that I would put it to some of you locals to see what your opinion is on the subject. Some of you might know who my spy is, he walks down the wall every day and has his own boat moored just above the ferry.

Best regards Wez
