headed off this morring at first light to gather up some bait, and took the rod with me.gathered bait for about an hour, plenty of lug an good amount of mussels,so set the rod up to try for a few flaties, kept the cast to about 80 yards out for i know this area well.waited and waited with no joy,so put a bell on rod tip and started digging more lug. i heard the bell and turned to the rod it was nearly been pulled off the tripod, grabbed it an give a firm strike, was a very dull fight so i thought it was a doggie, ended up landing a 3lb sea trout ( SPENT ) recon when at himself he would have been over 5lb. so quickly released him safely. :)

sorry no pic; had left my phone in the car, if i went up to get it the trout would have been out of the water to long. so wouldn't take the chance an just released him.

Unusual capture so, as the majority of sea trout are female. The kype is a dead giveaway though!
