4th place in Zone A for me last night. Last cast produced a lovely 52cm Cod. Not enough for the team I'm sure but I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed fishing that series of comps. Competitive it may be but there a good friendly bunch of lads. Plagued with weed at the far end of Ballycrennane for a couple of hours which didnt help after getting off to a flier pulling in 3 fish in the first hour, a meaty 36cm flounder and a couple of coalies. Nothing then until the last cast and a fine lump of a cod attached to some of Donals kindly donated smelly razorfish :D .
Fair play to all who turned up and all who competed throughout. Well done to Scotsman too, who fishing his first set of open comps more than held his own over the 3 legs catching fish in all.

Well done to all who turned up and all that made the team.
Its nice to see that there will be one leg of the munster close on in Kerry next year. It seems to be only Cork and Waterford anglers that have been fishing the Munster close of late. Hopefully we can have 7 or 8 Kerry anglers fishing all the legs next year.

The conditions were super with the forcast for the wind to shift slightly to north of west the venue had the perfect surf making wading quite safe.
The 35 committted anglers who turned up got a great nights fishing with 105 fish caught. With only 4 anglers not returning fish. Some very nice painted were recorded with 3 of the them very close to or over specimen weight.

Good nights fishing, nice fishing conditions and some nice fish caught. Thought I was going to have a great day with a flounder on each of my first two casts, but that was it, apart from I suspect a dropped flat an hour or so in. Clinton kept me busy marking off his fish anyway so I wasn't bored :).
Good set of comps, and would recommend them. Well organised and run.
Congrats to the on night winners and the overall team (when they are announced).

Fished the same spot on Friday night and the wind was stiff and squally. One unmerciful thundery shower soaked the lot of us. Nevertheless there was a great surf with good fishing.

Fished the Munster closed last Sunday had great fun catching weed :( at 7pm loaded up pennell rig with 40 lug and blasted it out went of to talk to some of the anglers came back at 8pm to reel in and go home lo and behold a dogfish of 67cm on it :D miss out on lonest round fish to cliff galahy  any way the Ireland Home team have 3 anglers from Waterford :D Alan Mulcathy Capt Bob Power (former Olympic cyclist Barcelona 92) and JP molley (Connaught) 8).Up THE DEISE 8) 8) 8) .

The amount of weed on the first few pegs at the far end of the beach (not sure what it was like at the other end of the beach) made wading a nightmare at times as it was like a forest around your legs. It seemed to come on thick at LW and then abated slightly (thank god!) with about 30-40 mins to go. I really must learn how to keep catching fish all through a session instead of getting off to a flier before dying a death.....

Well Dogfish didnt you win the Pool at the Munster Closed in Tramore, and dont be biased by not naming the U 16s on the Munster Team, Joey Murray, Daragh Mc Donald, and Jake Power, I think they all are members of RINNASHARK SAC.
