Report:what can i say my best days killiney fishing ever:D haven't fished here in about two weeks spent 3 hours looking for the fish and then out of nowhere i was in the thick of a cod plethora. after my camera man bailed on me to go to some stupid swimming comp i was left with the task of carrying my own gear. walked over to white rock first to catch some flats, ive fished there loads of times and never caught one due to bad weather but im convinced their there, had one rod freelining a sandeel for a small turbot(im ever optimistic) and took the other one to do some flounder stalking,(this involves walking around in the surf with a headlamp looking for fish swim off and casting where you think they went) your skeptical i sence that, but the results speak for themselves. first fish was my smallest flat to date at 13cm and finally nailed one on the 27cm mark, my biggest this year from killiney, it aint lacken but im happy. got on coalie 33cm in about 10inches of water:shock:and then started getting pluaged by immature cod and coalies so i had to move.
moved down to the carpark and met aurelien, i began to catch tons of cod, all around the 25cm mark:D, its makes a pleasant change from pin whiting,its a good sign of things to come this winter.

ebb is often much better for flounders in really close.

Ye not looking foward to the exams either. Might get out on the weekend if im not too busy with study for an hour or two. Need to get the head down though.

eric your gonna have to borrow debrock,s fish streching lens or start calling them fish codling :lol: cod are a tad bigger, so i,m told :shock:

on the ebb the receeding tide seems to put some movement into the sea here, aggrevating the shoreline. the flounder seem to sit just behind it, presumeably waiting for food. often it is just a couple of feet out. problem is they all seem so small lately! several there tonight and none over twenty. 19cm odd the biggest of them. better size ones seem to show at whiterock. although not as numerous. tried the rough tonight with lug and mussel, had no crab. very very slow. does it need a sea at this time to produce cod n coalies?

usually yes it does need a sea, but was getting them on a calm mild night about 20yards out.
