People: Me, John Andrew
Duration: 19:00-22:30
Tide: HW 18:00 ish I think
Weather: mild and calm, clear skies later
Bait: fresh lug, frozen razor
Rigs: 2 hook flappers
Results: 2 coalies to me
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:
Very quiet sea and fish wise, baits returning untouched for the most part. I had a crack off on my old rod, but luckily it landed only a few feet into the sea. Waded out to find it and found a small schoolie bass swimming beside me in about a foot of water. It stayed motionless for about 20 seconds even though I had my light trained on it, then it headed off back out. Didn't find my trace, but thought I'd get it when the tide fell a little bit more. Waded out about 20 minutes later and found it easily as it now had a coalfish attached to it waving back and forth in the small waves. I'm counting that as a catch :lol: Took me a good 5 minutes to get the poor thing revived and swimming again.
Another coalfish about half an hour later and that was it, apart from one bite on John's rod. Lovely evening, but not much happening.
