catch anr release: yes bar the mackerel

started fishing at nine and first two casts saw a dog and a dab, looked promising but slacked off for half an hour. cast out a freshly baited trace and got a rattle straight away pulled in a small school bass. went quiet again for half an hour. saw a fish or two breaking the surface further up the beach so decided to launch a spinner out towards them third retrieve got a large mackerel. decided to move back up the beach as there was nothing happening where we were. last hour was dead with nothing coming in so we decided to pack up on the retrieve i got a double of whiting and a dab and the mate got a double dab, so we rebaited and sent the gear out again. i hit it as far as i could and ten mins later had a small plaice. decided to pack up as half of the so called fresh worms we bought yesterday in an un-named tackle shop were mush. enjoyable day though.
