Went to to beach for a few hours on my jack Sunday
got there no one surfing just a few surfers watching the waves though OK just in case they start later i will fish close to the rocks on right side of the beach.

about four ish car park fills up with surfers who start to make there way in to the water directly in front of where i am fishing .
one of them stops and tells me they will be surfing there as it coming to high tide and i should move .
to say i was shocked was an understatement informed him there was no one in the water when i got other wise i would have gone else where . he repeated his its time to move statement otherwise they will surf through my line and ran into the water.
thought about moving but don't like being told what to do so i stayed
caught turbot close in on belly strip on the flapper
and the surfer about 30 yards out on sand eel and a 3/0 hook in the thigh
Should have been a relaxing sunday messed up
any one else had this problem?[/quote]

Would'nt go down that road there are surfing/anglers on this site. The last time I posted on that subject I had my post edited by a mod.

whoever is there first should have the area

you already had considered this by moving to the rocks to one side

fair play for holding your ground etc.

Was that the beach immediately in front of the Beach Bar , or the one which is a couple of miles to the West of Aughris -- with the stream and rocks on the right hand side ?

I had this problem with surfers before and like you I fished away and didnt move its free for all.

At the end of the day its all about morals and manners if someone came up to me and in a nice way asked "would you mind moving down when they catch a few waves" I more than likely fish further down, but if someone told me what to do I wouldnt take too kindly to it.

There are some people out there who are downright selfish and have no emphaty.
