Report:After my first trip in Micks boat , during which I caught the grand total of 1 mackeral and 1 coalie, I felt queasy and had to get back to dry land! I'm afraid i've found out that i'm no sailor and will have to settle for shore marks in the future. I'm happy with that! We loaded the boat and headed for the wall in Greystones harbour. I spoke to a guy on the wall who was spinning and he had caught about ten mackeral. Mick was spinning feathers with some mackeral strip attached and he caught a mackeral, small flounder and whiting. I had plenty of bites on my one hook baited also with mackeral and soon started catching small whiting. These were followed by 2 dogfish, which I am at last starting to handle and unhook properly. The chap on the other side of me started to catch some tiny flounder on his beachcaster. As darkness loomed every cast was producing bites and I was delighted to catch my first ever flatfish, a saucer sized flounder (small saucer!!). On this trip it was Dave-7 , Big Mick-3. Roll on the weekend!!
