Report:After blanking on my last couple of trips I took a break of at least a year . I decided to try my luck again at Greystones. Two of us fished off the wall in the harbour from 4.40pm to 9pm. All the bait we had were some mackeral fillets from Tesco's. We were both using two rods, one at distance and one spinning mackerel feathers. The weather was perfect with just a slight breeze. I had a bite after 30 mins or so which turned out to be a large doggie. He got his picture taken and was returned. As daylight faded my mate Big Mick started to catch mackerel and I concentrated on spinning also . We were catching at almost every cast and had soon caught over two dozen . We kept ten for the pan and Big Micks boat bait for the next day and released the rest. We then started to catch some small whiting and coalfish which were all returned. We caught at least ten of these each, all on mackeral strip. This was my most successful catch ever and has reignited my enthusiasm for fishing. A great day's fishing in a beautiful setting.
