Report:
Picked Steve up and headed out to Silverstrand, greeted by the sight of swimmers, windsurfers and kitesurfers, however it was just getting dark so they were all nearly finished. Good surf running, pretty breezy, bit of weed in the water but not too bad. Only had mack and squid, no chance to dig any lug and couldn't get sandeel in the shop...
Steve was first to score with a nice flounder first cast, then it went fairly quiet for a good while. I was fishing one rod at about 50 yards and one close in in the suds. Picked up a doggie on the rod out further, then another only about 10 yards out.
Another angler had arrived and set up, had a chat later but he was blanking, pestered by weed at the end he was fishing.
The wind was quite strong by this stage, making bites difficult to spot, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I reeled in what I thought was a lump of weed to find 2 plump flounder in among it - 36 and 32 cm, well chuffed with that :D
Had another flounder, prob about 26-27cm, and that was it for me. Steve pulled in a nice flounder on his last cast to reduce the slagging somewhat, but it was still nice revenge for the last session
Great session all in all, some cracking flounder in superb condition...

Forgot that, if you head down at low tide you'll probably find it - couldn't miss it with all the bling on it
And since we're slagging, what was the score again?

silver strand might only be a small beach, but it can be a little treasure for flatties at certain times of the year(even nige will be boasting about it now  )

Good drive to find somewhere as good for flatties, and its handy for an evening session after work. TBH I think Steve has seen a lot more there than I have!
