Report:
arrived in ring at half 11 and was greeted with about 2 dozen mullet rolling 10 feet from the shore.baited the area just down tide of them with 3 slices of bread. the eventually got feed ing after 15 mins but were very cautious. fished and continued to bait the area for the next hour until i had my first take which i subsequently missed. 10 mins later i had another one which i connected with for 2 seconds before my tippet broke at the dropper knot. not the ideal srtart but hope with them feeding. when the tide turned more fish came into the area and started hitting the floating bread very hard. eventually had a solid take on the sub surface bread fly, 3 mins later after a good struggle with one good run of about 20 yards i had a 1 1/2lb mullet, 20 mins later had another take which ripped the line out of my fingers and proceeded to run 30 yards. this one took about 5 mins before i had a slightly bigger mullet of 2 lbs. the next 30 mins saw me miss about 10 takes and loose a better fish of about 4 lbs before landing the final mullet of about 2 1/2lbs.
went home for a bite to eat then it was off to try a new mark for bass. suffice to say they didnt show but i did find a nice pollack mark with about 30 feet. had 15 pollack with the best touching 3 lbs. had loads of them about 1 lb, think the area would hold better fish in may and june when the better fish show.
