Bait: Mack and Sandeel

Rigs: 2 rods One Float One Bottom

Results: 7 Mack on the float Blank on the Bottom

Catch and Release:: 1 small returned the others kept for bait

Report: Decided to check out Ballyhornan after reading some of the reports. Parked near the slipway at Guns Island. Walked a good distance with too much tackle as usual. Found the remains of someone elses trip so tried this spot. Not sure if i walked round far enough or parked in the wrong place heard of pollock, cod and LSD being caught here all I managed was the Mack. Better than blanking i guess. Shortly after catching the second Mack a seal appeared had a good look and thankfully dissapeared and did not return. If anyone could shed some light on where better to park or fish from i would really appreciate it. Seem to be a good spot and great views.

Next time you go there park were you did, head along the road across small beach past the old boat house (long out pipe in front of it ) a fair bit on and up and down many hills you will eventually get to a small worn path, keep going on a bit, now you should be able to look down to a rock ledge sticking outsome distance below, this is a fairly good spot, lot of locals use it, i've a house in the area a fished it for many years, or half way between the car and this spot is a place known as mackeral point, some good coalies pollack and the odd doggie here. hope this helps... let me know how you get on, i'll be down that way in the next few weeks myself
