Report: nice evening so went down to Orlock for a couple of hours spinning for pollock. Various lures used, firetails, sand eel imatitations, eddystone eels etc all deep spun. Nothing doing untill tide started to drop and what do you know about 10' out at the end of a retrieve "bang" felt like a small pollock but was in fact a codling about 11/2 lbs, 20 minutes later same again and another codling slightly bigger about 2 lbs. Both took a blue/white eddystone eel. Just goes to show Orlock can throw up some surprises. Speaking of cod have heard recently of "large" fish being caught between Newcastle (Co Down) and Kilkeel, fish of 10lbs plus, took this with a pinch of salt but would be interested if anyone else can verify?

Was down myself last night fishing just to the right of the cod being caught. Blanked aswell. Tried spinning with stingers, tobies, jellyworms and artifical sandeels not a pull.

I asked on the previous topic about car spaces, is Sandeel Lane or Coastguard Lane where you go to park for fishing at Orlock?

heading for Donaghadee from Bangor go past the left hand turning signposted Orlock Road and continue towards Donaghadee, about 1/2 a mile further on you will see a couple of houses set slightly back from the main road and a small unmarked road leading to them turn in left here and left again you should be in a tarmac area with a short section of wooden fencing and gate leading into Orlock Point National Trust area
Directly opposite the left turn is a huge water tower on the hill.
I've attached an Aeriel shot which hopefully makes things clearer

Cheers for the directions, I know the spot you're talking about now. Hopefully going up to Orlock tomorrow morning, flow tide permitting although dawn/dusk would be ideal conditions methinks.
