went out to to today to try sliders over the top of the tressels, after 15 mins. had a fish slash at the lure 3 time without gettin hooked, kept workin my way down to a patch i call the "iron jungle" lots of old and abandonded tressels, spotted a fish that took on the first sweep of the rod, humped over the lure, a nice 8lber. seen some terns diving a while later, made my way up there, stood on a fine flounder on the way. tryed several lures whitout any joy before puttin back on the slider had a follow first then a while later had a splashy take. from a bass this fish looked like it had been hooked (released?) before. it was raining now so went home for tea, out for the dusk managed to snag my fav. lure cut line and tied it to a rock, hope to get it back tomorrow. will be fishin the cunn. with lugs tomorrow nite, 20+ 8)

joe
did not notice the lip was missin, i had heated the lip and tinkered with it till it fished just under the surface used it once had an 8lber. and few macks.
the sammy, had 10 hits on it yesterday eve. for the dusk never felt or hooked any of them. used it at some stage during the last 5 sessions landed 5, lost 1 and had 15+ other bass show intrest. if i had used a kilty/toby would prob. have landed 15, will use them a lot over the next few months, there worth it for the visual.

Yeah, the top water tend to miss strike on most of the take,i used to have same prob but not with seabass but other species back home. One of the tips is to add one or 2 more split ringg to your treble/single/double so its extend longer.I found it to produce more possitive hook up,but the problem will be it tend to get on the leader on the hard cast and some lure will go off ballance in addition to the extra split rings.

Sammy and surface hits

I personally consider the LC range of lures to be one of the best available. i am also aware of the fact that i do carry a small inventory of these lures but this decision was based over thousands of hours fishing with many different types including Maria, Rapala, etc

Across the range - wander/sammy/flashminnow/gunnish etc it offers a wide diversity of world class fishing lures. whilst expensive you simply get what you pay for. They also provide some nice LURE rods to compliment this type of fishing to enhance the experience.

Based on my experiences as a bass fishing guide i would strongly recommend this range to any angler for any number of reasons.

Cz - missing so many surface hits whilst not unusual from time to time, is a little strange and it may be a change in technique can improve your hook ups. A stop/start technique or getting your lure to swim just subsurface for short periods can help, i dont need to tell you to try and avoid striking at the fish its not neccessary.

Be aware that many replicas of the sammy and many other LC lures exist (none are as good) and are just cheap copies of a quality Tackle Company.

Glad to hear that,Jim.Theres one more brand other than LC that i really like to try here for seabass....Megabass....they do a lot of good lure, but as LC they are expensive....i like the action of most of these new age lure(LC,Megabass,Ima,Tiemco)most have quite a new kind of action that maybe a bass never seen from other regular lure....

Cortaz....never try them yet.....but willing to.....just got quite a nice bass this morning using Duel pencil.....verry classic and exiting take on the top water lure.....
