Report:

with the tides perfect and a nice surfr rolling all weekend we had decided that we were gonna hit one of our bass beaches. had dug lug last wednesday which had been kept alive in my fridge(4 1/2 days and still kicking..).. arrived just before darkness and set up at a point on the beach we hadnt fished before. first cast and the buddy had a rattling bite which he missed, mine came back untouched.next cast i wound up and sent it out about 120yds into 20+ foot of water, waited for 5 mins and then had a savage hit and run bite which nearly pulled the rod over, i struck and everything went pleasingly solid. a short fisht ensued and a nice schoolie of about 3 lbs was landed, unhooked and slipped back with the minimum of fuss.

while this was going on friends rod was hooped over as a bass took a liking to his lug bait, 2 minutes later a little schoolie of about 1 1/2 lbs was landed.i sent mine out around the same distance again and didnt have to wait lon until i had another bite, this time a slack liner.i wound furiously and connected with,......absolutely nothing  , hate when that happens..rebaited and whacked it out again..after about 10 mins i had another slack liner. again i would furiously and again nothing. this time i left it sit where it was.after another 10 mins i had a good bite again, except this time the fish ran away from me and was cleanly hooked. after a nice scrap which had the bass run parrallel with the beach and a bar of silver of about 3 3/4 lbs was landed.

after this it went pretty quite with my friend getting another 1 1/2lb schoolie on the last cast..all in all a pretty good evenings fishing..
