People: Me
Duration: 2 hours
Tide: dropping
Weather: On the cusp of raining but it never actually did
Bait: Mackerel
Rigs: Ball lead, size 6 hook, 8lb line
Results: 14 mullet
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:
I was hungover on a quite spectacular level so I had to defer heading back to Dublin so I yoinked 6 mackerel from the pier and did a spot of groundbaiting at the head of the structure.
The mullet were milling pretty hard. Most were smallish 2-3lbers but I had 4 over 4.5lbs, biggest 5 lb 12oz.
Would have been far more enjoyable if I didn't have the head on me or the drive in front of me!

MC, iron stomach on me man, no worries there. No it was whole mackerel cut into 5 to 6 pieces and lobbed in. No frills fishing.

I don't have the tide table to hand but I think Cobh is 7.25am today which would have high tide at 1pm give or take a few minutes on Saturday.
Pete, I like fishing very light for them so I use 6lb mainline on the reel but that is only me being dramatic, 12lb is fine. After that standard coarse gear ie wagglers, size 8 (though they take size 1) hooks, swan shot. To be honest thats fishing very so we can fish you a bit heavier until you get the first one! Any light spinning set up you have will suffice
