Mon Jun 25, 2007 7:30 pm

People: Myself Dale Ivor

Duration:4 hours

Tide: flood

Weather: light wind, overcast

Bait: mackerel

Rigs: ledgers

Results: myself 6 rays, 2 dogs. Dale 2 dogs

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:

We fished the tide from low water but were again plagued with weed until the tide eased off a bit at which time the fishing was great, within a hour and a half period i d had 6 rays ranging from 3.5lb to 9lb which is my best this season so far and a couple of dogs Dale missed out on the rays this time but did manage a couple of dogs. Myself Dale and Richard went down again on Saturday and managed 4 more rays and a few dogs this time we fished the ebb again with macks. I got some good photos which ill post if I ever figure out how to do it. (any help on this score would be most welcome)

Happy hunting.

nice fishing considering the weak tides lads.

Just a note to everyone who fishes fahan that some locals were unhappy that discarded /misplaced full traces with largish hooks were left on the beach recently, leading to in-tangled dog and thankfully not a child. The dog was OK, but fellow beach users were not impressed. In the recent Journal for reference. :?

Thats just par for the course with (mod edit) getting let out for the day! I witnessed a few of them at Culdaf pier recently unhooking fish and kicking them back into the water :evil: , then when they decided they had enough they threw their rubish into the water, plastic bags, empty plastic bottles, and balls of disgarded fishing line all over the place!
God love sure they've no other sense. :(
