had the day off and had an itch that needed scratching so decided to hit my ray mark. arrived an hour after hw to bright sunshine and a gentle w breeze. didnt get a touch for about 2 hours and then the dogs came on the feed. had around a dozen when i got a classic ray bite which resulted in a monster ray all of 2 lbs. at this stage pete arrived. a few dogs later i got another good bite on the rod about 30yds out which looked like a doggy. seemed to come in pretty easily until about 20 yds out when it woke up and began to pull abit, when i finally got it to the shallows i was surprised to see it was a huss of about 6/7 lbs, first this year. missed one other weird bite when my rod was sat motionless before it was slowly pulled over and nearly off the rest before i grabbed it. waited about 5 mins before striking which resulted in a dog, dont think this was the origional bite tho.weather became very still and the fish appeared to go off the feed so i called it a night. pete stayed on so dont know how he finished up....

Over a dozen dogs is how I got on  Headed up to the rougher part Neil shortly after you left and fished there until around midnight..more dogs there. Lastcast arrived around 8.30pm and on his third cast took a ray of about 5lb.
Nice evening's fishing and great to see the huss being caught.
