Weather Blistering Heat, 25C

Bait: Rag, Mackerel, Sandeel, squid.

Rigs: 2 hook clipped, pulley rigs

Results:2 Pollock, 2 Wrasse.

I set out from the house around 9am and unsure where to fish. Listening to the local forecast on the radio ‘’it is going to be at least 22c’’. With the tides being a bit crap for everywhere I decided to just fish close to home. With a toss between Glenarm and Garron point, glenarm it was.
I got all set up for around 10.30 and whacked out a mackerel bait about 90 yards to see if the was any doggies about after about an hour and a half with nothing touching sandeel or the mackerel I moved on up to the concrete platform to see if I could persuade some wrasse or Pollock out of the weeds. Using the two rods I kept one rod for long range and one a short drop in. It’s the first real chance I have got to use the AA surf, which caught all the fish. I have to admit I was astonished when I brought in the fish each time thinking that they were going to be quite credible which only turned out to be around 26cm. Amazing bite detection and a lot of hidden power. I tried for a couple of plaice with the surf but no to no avail. The AA surf has a lot of hidden power and I have to admit I am still amazed by how much.
Silly me forgot to bring the sun lotion and after 6 solid hours of the affects of the sun reflecting of the water I could feel my arms burning up. I decided to head to the chippie and get a cheeky burger with a beautiful bottle of water.
Quote of the day.
After getting a snap of on the mag elite, a young fella comes up to me and says ‘birds nest eh’. Didn’t know what to say to him. Lol

All in all it was a good day but I did get very badly sunburnt through pure ignorance on my part. I actually feel very stupid and after a lecture and a telling off from my mother about skin cancer I am now well warned for the future. Sun lotion is now a vital part of my kit for this time of year.

Good luck and tight lines
