Report:
Decided to head out to the pier for a bit of pollock fishing & to pick up a few Mackeral if they were about.
Didn't check the tides before heading out & arrived to a flat tide fully out with not much doing.

Fished along the wall in the harbour on the way up with lures to try for Pollock with no luck. Tried the seaward side of the pier for a while with feathers & lures but nothing showing.
The end of the pier was sheer madness...
Dance music, dutch gold & strings of feathers everywhere.
Nobody was catching anything & there were a dangerous amount of muppets about.

Moved back down the inner wall of the harbour & picked up some sandeel & small pollock on sabikis. Fished the sandeel & got the pouting, wrasse & some more pollock (nothing big).

Left at about 8pm & the tide was still not fully in, Launce or Garfish were hammering sandeels in the harbour but they werent taking lures.
Heard reports of Mackeral being caught at the end of the pier as it got later.

Risk the Mackeral bashers at your peril!!!

If we could convert a few of those Mackie bashers to anglers the sport would be doing well. There seems to be thousands all over the country.
