People:Me and a few others
Duration: 8 hrs
Tide:Incoming
Weather:Sunny
Bait:Soft plastic with jig head and spinner
Rigs:Braid+Fluoro leader+snap+lure
Results:A few small pollack and one 2.3lb pollack.
Catch and Release::Release all the small pollack and keep the big one for dinner.
Report:Nice weather, decide to repeat yesterday spinning session when a good size pollack manage to spit back my lure.A lots of people going after the mac.Not many mac landed compare from the weekdays last week....too much pressure for the fish i think.Got 2 pollack that not even hooked, but dont want to let go the plastic.Reliable and economic way of fishing into the weed and snaggy area.Lure can be put in a strike zone longer. The 2.3 lb pin down my lure only a few meter from the water edge and start to peel off line from the spool.A good fight on light tackle.

Nice one!
I was fishing that area myself for a couple of hours on Sunday but the tide was very low & didn't pick up much.
Got some smaller Pollock & Whiting on sabiki lures & sandeels in the harbour, the end of the pier was madness with the people fishing for Mackeral.
I really like the look of those lures - do you bury the hook point in them completely?
What brand are they?
I've started using rubber/plastic lures for my freshwater perch fishing recently & catch rates have vastly improved, want to start trying them at sea.

Hi 2poc,
The 1st from top is,Zoom Salty Super Fluke, the second one is Gambler 4'' Baby Flapp N Shad.
For the hook, the most left one is owner worm hook, can use weightless or u can thread ur line thro bullet sinker and directly tied them to the hook. The midle one is the el cheapo which i get from rorys @ tample bar for 25 cent each, heavy enuff to cast it far and getting the plastic down fast and deep, the problem is its easily snag due to the hook used are an ordinary hook which is exposed too much, the most economic jig head. The most right is owner ultra head bullet jig head,i found this get less snag and u can position the hook to avoid snag.I hook them all with the point out thro the plastic, but try to keep it close to the body of ur lure to avoid them easily snag to the weed.Need a light set up to cast them far,but most of the time pollack just whack them verry near to the water edge.

Great stuff - thanks. I'll pick some up & give them a go next time myself.
P.s. what time were you fishing from/to? I probably passed you at some stage during the day.
Cheers,
Patrick.

Thanx inigo.
Patrick,i fished from 10.30 hrs to 18.30 hrs.....yeah...you maybe pass me at some times of the hrs....but the fishing was not so good during saturday and sunday....too many people.....i was there on thursday and watch a few guys got a lots of mack and pollock using spinner.....too many activity in the waters on weekend tho....a jetski, a boat running close to shore just in ur casting range and even a few couples go down dipping and swimming between the spinners and hooked feathers and sabikis in the water. Not so safe tho....
