Report:Had been meaning to get back here for a long time to give it a serious go for pollack. Drove up early this morning and set of light to try a few marks. First couple looked promising but kelpy and no real depth of water, still got a few small fish at both. On the third i hit the jackpot plenty of fish to 3lb one at 5 lb and a couple like the one in the photo one either side of 7.5 lb.
Sorry about the quality of the photo, have to try and remember to stop using the sky as a backdrop. Had to muck about with contrast.

I love fishing at cruit the locals faver the end at the golf club ,but myself I like to fish half way up the island on the left hand side much deeper water it's been said that tope swim the channal on the right hand side .

Yep, i have fished at both and also heard about the tope. Maybe throw a big bait out the next time i'm up.

Thanks, thinking of heading back up tomorrow, weather looks like a nightmare but you can usually find some shelter.

Cracking fish mate, well done. I reckon that ten pounders not too far away :wink: .
I take it you didn't go back up on Sat......as you can see from my latest report we had already committed ourselves but it was a bad day, one to forget.

Unfortunately i did go back up on Saturday. Weather was terrible. All i can say is the mark is fishable in a southerly gale but the big fish had gone. Caught half a dozen pollack to 2 lbs. Chucked a big bait out on bottom on a pennell rig and thought i had something decent on but it was 2 doggies 1 on each hook.
