Report:met up with dave(up this end of the country working :wink: )
on the way to the beach so ended up four lads walking the prom with three sets of eyes looking all over the place at the scenery :roll: ..

reached the beach and the 2 others decided to fish off the diving tower, midget was the first to bring in a fish.. small flounder (after a bit of fiddling about with it i got the hook out, it swam away happily into the oncoming surf, midget then left for the comfort of his house..after a while of catching nothing and the 2 lads on the tower phoning dave every few minutes reporting doggies and a nice huss we decided to join them and squeeze onto the tower(too rough for swimmers), after running the gauntlet to get onto the tower(waves spraying surf over the path) and getting a little wet we set up the other side of the tower.. it wasnt soon before i pulled out my first doggie of the evening...and dave was soon to follow with a doggie.. then i got a nice little huss of about 3lbs :D :D that was me happy :D
(just remembered i should have taken a photo for the species hunt...buggerit :oops: ) then not long after dave pulled out a nice double shot of doggies.. all the while the wind was getting stronger and stronger.. i'd say by the end we were fishing in force 7-8 winds..
so myself and dave called it a night and left the 2 lads fishing a bit longer (10mins)..

would have been a better session if the weather was calmer as there was a slight chill to the winds.. but at least no-one blanked.. even though there were a few birdies and a crackoff... ye know who ye are...

unreal session! ya shuda told me ye wer goin down!!!!

i had about 3 birides in total..and a double shot of dogs!! told ya not 2 4get to mention that :lol: :lol: ... just back home now...feckin 4 and a half hours in the van...bloody nightmare!!!

come to salthill through the hight of the good weather.. you'll see plenty of birdies.. taking pics may not be a good idea though :lol: :lol: and you definitely need to wear 8) or your eye's will look like that when you get the odd slap :shock: :wink:

or you could bring binoculars like steve used to! lol

only fish it after dark or in extreme weather conditions... :shock: or else you'll have all the swimmers after you :shock: :lol: :lol:

it happins to me anytime you are fishin there in nice weather!lol

does the estuary in around renmore produce any decent flats

i take it your on about lough atalia - have seen big mullet in there - never fished it and never seen anyone fishing it

used to be very dirty - probably still is

no....there are supposed to be congers around there and there are also some big mullet.

there are a lot off nice mullet there..was actually thinking about trying it for doggies or flatties. i prob will when i get off for the summer!
