Sandycove, Dublin 12/05/07

Sat May 12, 2007 5:43 pm

People:Just me

Duration:Crack of dawn for about 40 mins

Tide:coming in

Weather:Overcast

Bait:Fly Fishing

Results:One tiny Pollack

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:Decided to give sandycove a go very early in the morning as I had never caught anything there when I went later on in the day. A massive seal swam by as I started fishing so that didnt help things from the start. Caught the fish on a pink and green clouser. First fish on the fly this year so quite happy. Only got 40mins as I would have been trapped by the tide :? .

i have to swff this year. i fish a couple of spots that would be great to try for pollock, mackerel and mullet. when looking on ebay the other week i saw immitation baby crabs which fall upside down in the water just like a crab does. looked the business, bound to take a few wrasse on them as well. well done on your first fly-caught fish of the year.
