People:me and tommy
Duration:2 hours
Tide:rising
Weather:horrible, like a winters day
Bait:rag
Rigs:sliding float
Results:2 coalies, 34cm and 36cm
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:spent a couple of hours down at orlock. weather was dreadful today. we headed to my usual spot and tried in vain against the elements but with no results to show. so we looked for any spots that were on the calmer side. found a wee spot and the reults were instant. tommy caught a coalie as soon as the bait sunk. almost the same with myself, i caught my coalie first cast. after missing a couple of bites each the place went completely dead, then up popped a seals head. tried for about half an hour after but the seal must have totally spooked the swim. not a great day but we both caught.

hi rab
I went to orlock armed with a spinning rod and some lures yesterday for a couple of hours.
I walked over the field and down onto the rocks at the end of the first field and fished from there round to smelt mill bay( my normal approach).
not a touch all day :evil:
and yes there was a seal about yesterday as well.
there seems to be one about no matter where I go lately,had one at greys a few weeks ago.
bets wishes

hi cky. i have to say i wouldn't be confident of catching on lures just yet. if u could either dig ragworm or buy a bag of ragworm and float fish about 10 foot depth u should get something. if the weather wasn't so bad i know we would have done better. there has been no fry or sandeel in at the shore yet so i'd leave the lures at home for a few weeks. the fish r there mate, u've just gotta guess what they r feeding on. good luck chum, maybe c u down there some week.
