Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:well we started off serious then when we weren't catching nutin took a walk along the pier to see what was up. saw a shoal of mullet but they just weren't interested. then we went back down and started fishing in amongst the swans and i promptly missed one(i swear my hook was in its mouth :evil: :shock: ) and then got the other one after a mighty fight. the i had to go and Chris decided to stay on and proceeded to get yelled at by some old "save the swans" biddy's. those people really annoy me and i think they are fools but that's just my opinion.

unfortunately not. :evil: a good pair of scales are something i don't have and cant afford at the mo. just out of interest which scales do you use Jim?

Pity about that. All mullet men especially should get a scales and have it certified.
I use a Salter Electro Samson. I bought a second one recently on Ebay and I think it cost about +-€60. You can see the type here : http://cgi.ebay.ie/SALTER-ELECTRO-SAMSO ... dZViewItem

JD bought a digital scale recently for €15 and the Weights and Measures people were happy to certify it so it needn’t cost an arm and a leg.

You don’t have to send the body back for mullet but you must have good photos: http://www.irish-trophy-fish.com/articles/photos.htm
For grey mullet this is important to distinguish between, grey thick lipped, grey thin lipped and golden grey (there were a good few mullet claims rejected last year :evil: ).

When you are catching specimen fish you may as well get the credit for it and have it certified so nobody can claim it being a “fishy tale”. :D
