People:Myself
Duration:3.30-6.15pm
Tide:flooding
Weather:sunny very light s /easterly
Bait:lug mack
Rigs:2 hook/3hook flappers
Results:3 flounder
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report:I decided to give this beach a go as i hadn't fished it in a long while, it was nice to be able to use the braid set up in the flat calm conditions on the beach.
surprisingly the flounder were all caught a fair bit out (around 90-100 yds) which is strange on this beach,I had no luck at all at close range.
No great size (30,31,31).
There is an small island that is linked to the shore by a natural causeway which can be accessed at low tide in the middle of the bay that has some good pollack,wrasse and conger fishing during the summer months you can also fish from the causeway back into clean sand for flats.

Johnboy
Often thought of trying that little island/causeway area. Where would be best to leave the car to get to it?

Spurs boy if you head towards the slipway at Dunaff about you will pass a guys place on the right that does ornamental ironwork ,just past there is a wee grass track on the right that leads down to the beach.it's a short walk out to the island from there.

About 3/4's of a mile past the Rusty Nail bar on the road to Leenan pier , you cant miss it it's the closest you get to the shore on the drive to the pier.also known as rockstown bay.
