Report:

Six of us in work had a wee "pike League" thing going over the winter, and now that it has finished, the latest competition is to see who can catch the most species of fish (Game, course, sea...) until the next pike league starts in October/November...

So three of us decided to make a start on it today, although it was very much a last minute thing. We landed at Leenan Pier first of all, around 11am. The tide was dropping and I don't feel confident fishing Leenan on an ebbing tide (And I always find that if you're not confident of catching, you usually dont...)

So after two biteless hours at Leenan Pier, we loaded up the gear again and headed to Tullagh Bay, following on from the recent reports on here.

My two work collegues decided to fish with spinners off the rocks to the left of the beach for the first few hours, but with no success. I headed straight to the beach and caught 6 flounder and 4 turbot, none of any great size.

When the other two fellas heard I was catching, they came over to join me for the last hour and a half or so but they had no joy. Wouldn't have minded staying until nearer high water but I had to get home for the Derry City match (in hindsight I should have just stayed out fishing  )

First time I ever fished the place, happy enough.
