I had a pretty poor day ,just couldn't hook the fish but had plenty of bites ,though I had 3 wrasse over 1lb with the best one just over 2lb ,hope sam's ok after his wee fall into the polo ,I just heard the thud and looked round to see him waist deep . Dont know him that well so didn't want to take the **** .

have to say lads was a good session although didn't hook as many as i would of liked to you soon know your arse from your elbow trying to manoeuvre a long rod into the fish holding areas shorter rod required. lol Sam's good for a slagging always the one to fall asleep when the fish are being landed but that's down to his favourite beverage it could of been worse he usually falls asleep in rockpools

Now you know why we use such short rods ,though you do get some strange looks dandering down the pier with all the gear on and 4 foot 6 rods in a bucket

you may get strange looks but catch all the fish lol have to say nice set up you guys are using me and gilly will have to try and find a pair from somewhere gilly was saying its hard to find somewhere that sells them

Excellent lads once again, sounds like a great session. Gonna try and learn how to do these rotten bottom rigs as it seems very worthwhile on ground like it is around Bangor.

Nice session guys, I'll have to give Bangor a go soon as it seems to be reasonably consistant (or maybe its just the best guys fish there) :D

glad you guys caught fish, normally its a bite a cast when the wrasse are in thick.my biggest wrasse was only 3.2lb not 4lb. maybe the next one will be  just as you were leaving i had a tompot blenny,i was going to call you back so you could see it but you were at the far end of the pier.no doubt we`ll see you again down there.

There seemed to be a good variety of fish caught but could you teel me what fish preferred which bait (I usually catch Wrasse on rag). Also was the Rockling caught during daylight as I have only ever caught them after dark? This little bit of advice might improve my catches as things have been very poor recently.

[quote="drewk"]most fish that i know of drewk fell to ragworm baits although the rockling will take fish baits as well as rag all our fish were caught in daylight
