Report:
Great evening. We decided to put cortaz moon phase theory to test and it seemed to work.We predicted that the bass should come on the feed about 9.30 and the first 1 was caught at 9.20.Steady bites after that.Averaged about 2-3 lb with biggest about 4.5 lb.
Went out spinning on Seans boat on saturday and had a bass a shade over 6lbs as well as several sea trout.A good weekend for the bass.
Some photos to follow.
Looking good for your trip to kerry in a few weeks Eoghan! :D

I will be in landers tomorrow buying some of those tobys Sean. They were deadly for the sea trout and bass.Knocked the kilty catcher and dexter wedge for dead.

20g, but the small thicker one, silver with gold print/paint, i've never seen that colour for sale since i got those at a caravan show in Glasgow about 10yrs ago, that's why i threatened to throw you overboard if you lost it!!!
Bye the way, you know how the women have been getting neglected this weekend, thought it was only right i took her for a walk last night......where you caught that bass looked like a good idea, and yes i took the fly rod as well  , no luck that time, only fished for 1/2hr!

Nice report lads. The above prompted me to think of something said to me a long time ago...
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he eats every day.
Teach a woman to fish, the man gets to fish every day!

Nice one Col, very interested to hear about two things :
1. The moon thing - No arse pics please ..! :-)
2. The toby lure out fishing the kilty...! The Kilty is my fav small lure for bass.
All in all though it sounds like its getting warm down there. Happy days.!

I'm confused. The Solunar rating for that day is poor and moon set is 22.55pm (Dublin). Cortaz, can you explain this as i thought i was beginning to understand...? :(

Was on inch strand sunday
3 anglers fishing in bright sunlight by the rocks were playing catch the grip lead with windsurfers, surfers , kite surfers and some bonkers swimmers
Just didnt look like fun
Good session with the bass lads

the coordinates you used were they for kerry or dublin?

They were for Dublin. Kerry didnt appear to be an option. I assumed (doh) that there wouldnt be a lot of difference

1, Didn't bother taking any pics of those although there was some boy racers about that night, think they must have heard about this moon phase as well
It's new to me me as well, I've always just looked for the day or two previous to a big tide,
2, Here is the lure in question, if anyone knows where to get this colour of Toby would you let me know, by far the best Bass lure for me.
