Killiney Beach, Dublin, 19/03/07

Tue Mar 20, 2007 12:20 pm

People:Me

Duration:14:30-20:00

Tide: Ebbing -> mid

Weather:Windy NW bit of rain and hail at the start. Big surf for Killiney.

Bait:Fresh lug, frozen razor, frozen wraps.

Rigs:Single hook and Pennel Paternosters clipped, three hoook flappers, 2 up 1 down unclipped.

Results: 2 coalies

Catch and Release:: Nothing there I wanted to eat, so yes.

Report:I wanted to get out cos I haven't been that well recently, had some frozen bait to use up as I've been freezing my own left over lug.
No bites until the water was rising again and this coincided with dusk, then two coalies in quick succession at moderate distance. The scratching rig picked up nothing and I was throwing that short into the whitewater. Casting improved on the multi too, only one birds nest in the whole session.

Fish fell to a mix of frozen and fresh lug, although I suspect it was the fresh lug.
