Report:

Planned to head east but changed mind at last minute as Petes crew were travelling from Clon to cut down on the driving. From the very beginning, it was nothing but coalies as virtually everything thrown out at them was snaffled instantly. Had to really scale up the tackle in a bid to avoid them after getting into double figures. No bass to report either I'm afraid despite having the best of bait.... Ah well..... :roll:

Good to wet a line with Gavin and also to give him a right good pasting for the abuse that followed my last session with him... :wink: :D Most satisfying moment of the night was lifting a flounder around 25cm or so from around 10 yards out on a bunch of maddies and whites, had specifically set out to try and nail one on the last cast so well chuffed with that.

Not that exciting a night, worse was to follow though when en-route home through Kinsale and with the offer of a free cod and chips for doing the driving on the table and a grumbling tummy we pulled in to find the bloody chipper had closed :evil: :evil: :evil:

Did ye mention the flounder that you went after....oh ye did :lol: :wink:
Again thanks for the lift (nice to meet pete and the lads :) ) it was good to be out wetting a line again.The cod suppers are on me next time (can't believe the chipper was closed :evil: )....

Ah Gavin....Did ye mention the (1) coalfish ye caught.... :D

LOL, Derek, beware the wounded Gavin if you're fishing with him tonight, hes going to be like a bear....

Interesting however that the bottom end of the beach beside the carpark was full of weed whereas the top end was totally clear. A point to bear in mind for anyone fishing down that neck of the woods at any stage soon.

Gav u did well to put up with that windbag for a session :lol: Took a 36cm codling and a flounder in the last hour after ye left. Mini coalies came on strong again after that :x
