Report:As the boat scene has been desperate for the last couple of months due weather , I just had to wet a line! so desperate in fact, that even the thought of catching coalfish sounded appealing!!

So Nevskibb and myself set up at 19.30 on my local beach at annestown, to a lovely looking sea, the action was immediate with a good codling on the first cast.
We then proceeded to catch a fish a cast, with all the fish being small codling, something we did'nt expect!
At around 2 hours to go before high water, the rockling appeared, as the cod bites just stopped, as on my days of fishing on the east coast of suffolk told me, when the rockling appear, time to go home! it was the same in this instance, not a single bite after the first rockling appeared.
We had a number of big hits, but no hook-ups, not sure if it was bigger cod, or bass.
We ended the night with 4 codling to 30 cm, 5 to 48 cm and 2 to 50cm and 1 to 52
Not bad for a couple of hours fishing.

Hi mr green,
we fished the western side of the beach, just to the west of the rocky outcrop at the centre of the beach, ( visible at low water)
Beach has changed a lot since the storms, much sand has been shifted, but it will most likely return in the summer
