People: Myself and Brother
Duration: About 3 hours
Tide: On the way up, speed steadly increasing
Weather: Heavy swell at times running the channel, sunny, wind coming over the headland
Bait: Lug, Mussel, Mackerel and one peeler crab
Rigs: 3 hook flappers and one up one downs
Results: 2 very small codling and a whiting
Catch and Release:: Yes
Report: Bit of laziness in deciding where to go, came down to closest is best, so Dalkey it was. Lots of very small fish about, only started to catch when the tide was running strong enough for fish to hook them self’s! Great day to be out, sheltered from the wind by Dalkey head so it was "very nice!" There were a couple of other people about but no one having much luck. Two of the fish on the one small peeler, wonder bait!!
:?: Question: moving out to Malahide area anyone out there any ideas about the Broad meadow estuary or mouth of the estuary proper? Cheers :?:
