Fair play Cortaz for showing the pictures of the location. I'm sure if one knows the area it's open season!!!

Went out Friday night to Doonbeg in Clare. Hooked two :) Had to be Bass with the head shake and the run and Lost the same two  Gutted...... I was ready to throw the rod away.

As for the amount of fish being caught in Waterford ............ Well they are not being caught in Clare (by me anyway) Maybe it is balancing things out or they are all gone on holidays with the fine weather!!!!!!

got the beach where the plaice came from sussed but the smoothie still eludes me.

the other beach round the other side of the tower was kind to me last year when i could get past the bl**dy weed. had huss, dogs & bass but a friendly local told me a small boat would see loads of plaice?

The tension was a bit to tight on the first.

The second went on a run and snagged. On low tied the beach shows patches of rocky areas but didn't prove a problem before!!!

twod take a week to write a compleat :) answer  , however, (most are around 18g.) wind assisted 60+m. cast high....headwind/crosswind 30/40m. cast low over the water. distance does count but not all the time, esp. over h.w. a slow/med. retrive most of the time, esp. at dawn/dusk.
