Good memory. In fact the legislation is specifically worded to include live fish.

five or dead bass youd get done for the pic with five bass in it DEAD....youd get done, you must have been catching them mackeral if they were all alive, you cant expect anyone to believe you kept five bass alive in a rockpool was it dead enough for five bass to swim about in????

Being new to sea fishing from doing a lot of pike fishing, I personally used an unhooking mat for all the pike I caught, was easier on the knees too instead of kneeling on stones etc, the pike were unhooked on the mat the returned straight away, I will be carrying an unhooking mat with me when I get out sea fishing too.
I don't intend killing any fish unless I have to, the thinking behind this is purely a personal one (if I kill the fish I will never ever catch it again, if I return it I might catch it in a few years time much bigger and hopefully still healthy enough to be returned again!).
I respect every anglers right to kill a legally sized fish if they wish, on the flip side I also respect any angler who practises catch and release, it's down to what you want from your angling experience, imho we should all live and let live guys, lets learn from each other and enjoy our sport.

Now I personally know Hairyconger, and I honestly know for a fact he could not have Emailed you a 'Virus' to you (Due to the fact that he couldn't even write basic HTML, never mind know how to handle a Computer Virus without mucking his own PC up! Sorry Mate  ). HC is a good Angling friend of mine and was only putting his side of the coin across. Now lets just stop the bickering, I request this thread be locked post haste.

I personally think we should put this to bed!
Bass boy stated he used catch and release methods to his fishing, who are we to doubt. If one anglers word is not good enough to believe then were does that get any of us. (It was this big! )
I have read numerous posts like this one to be frank they start off with good intentions and then turn into a free for all with usually 2 or 3 anglers basically ripping it and each other to shreads. It does become very BORING after the 3rd or 4th pages of anglers taking a pop at each other.
Learn from it and move on

Ah Damm bloody work, where's the photos of mass hysteria!
I've got a photo, granted it was taken about 10yrs ago, but if i posted it on here all hell would break loose going by the response to Bass Boy's photo!
Just my tuppence worth but i think a few people should climb down of their high horse and give the man a break!
Catching 5 bass on the North Coast ain't as strange as some people may believe and double hook ups too  You just have to be in the right place at the right time.
I'd have more faith in Bass Boy showing a photo of some bass and saying he released them than the bloomin Mongs that run around the North Coast beaches killing all the bass they catch not matter what size.
Oh and I might go on a rant regarding people that fish those areas on a regular basis and sell all their bass to the Mongs.
Its been a while since i fished any of the beaches so hopefully it ain't going on now....
Anyone wants to know what i mean by 'Mong' PM me !
Rant over :)

Come on now lads sending a virus that is no way to treat anyone the man says that he had five bass I say good on him. And they were all released if it was me I would have kept one I have had one bass this year and it was 47cm I think. If you were fishing a comp the size a bass has to be is 45cm to count I think. Since catching my first and only bass I have put a lot of time in to bass fishing researching hundreds of web pages and putting lots of hour’s in. this man says he has done the same and I believe him you have to do your home work lads if you want to catch bass you can get lucky some times but 99 times out of 100 it is skill that catches them knowing what they are feeding on and what kind of areas that bass love. By him saying that there was a rock pool gives you an idea were they like. Bass love rocks they can be found in sandy areas too but it’s mostly rocks by the way his rod and reel looks I would say he was spinning or maybe even plugging for bass and it doesn’t have to be deep water 3-5ft is more than enough for bass to feed in so I have read. I will put it to you plain and simple lads do you home work if you want to catch bass you may blank 9 times out of 10 but when you get that one bass it is well worth the effort
